      The Flame Tree Estate & Hotel offers seven individually decorated rooms and suites, each furnished with antiques and original art from Sri Lanka. The Dancing Elephant family room includes a large bathroom and views of pink blossomed trees where monkeys can be seen in the morning. All rooms in the hotel provide air conditioning, free WiFi, and private bathrooms with either indoor or outdoor showers.

      The hotel restaurant serves Asian, international, and European cuisines using herbs and vegetables from the hotel's own kitchen garden. Breakfast offers vegetarian and gluten-free options and can be delivered to the room or enjoyed on the outdoor dining terrace overlooking the estate. Meals are cooked to order with a daily changing menu that includes a house curry and western dishes.

      Wellness and Yoga

      A yoga master with over 30 years of experience in Sri Lanka and India conducts private sessions for guests at the hotel. The on-site spa provides full body massages, foot massages, and head massages using local oils such as turmeric and coconut. Guests also have access to an adults-only infinity pool with panoramic views of the jungle and a well-equipped gym.

      Family-Friendly Features

      The Flame Tree Estate has family suites with separate areas for adults and children, plus baby safety gates and board games. Kids can use the indoor play area and outdoor play equipment while parents relax by the pool. The staff can provide high chairs and simple children's meals, and are happy to look after babies for short periods so parents can swim.

      Location and Activities

      Set on 10 hectares of former plantation land, the hotel is a 40-minute drive from Kandy Royal Botanic Gardens and the Temple of the Tooth Relic. Guided estate walks of 30 or 90 minutes pass through jungle paths where guests can see monkeys, mongoose, and eagles. The hotel also arranges day trips to Sigiriya and Dambulla with a recommended driver called Malshan.
